Looking for childcare during Mass? St. Pius X Parish offers babysitting for 18 month old to 3 year old children during the 10:00 am Sunday Mass!
Adult volunteers will direct the program with assistance from student volunteers. All adults have completed Virtus Training, undergone a background check, and have committed to The Standard Code of Conduct as set forth by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany. Students have successfully completed the Red Cross Babysitting Course and have also committed to The Standard Code of Conduct for Youth Volunteers. Several of the volunteers have completed CPR training.
Important Information about the program:
Parents who attend the 10:00 Mass may leave their toddler child(ren) ages 18 months – 3 years in a safe, happy, nurturing environment in our Pre-K Classroom where children will participate in fun and meaningful activities.
A parent or guardian must accompany their child to the classroom and sign in each week. When leaving, they must also sign them out on the appropriate form. The adult should assist their child with their outer clothing and make sure that the child is comfortably settled into the classroom and under the care of one of the volunteers before leaving for Mass. The parent or guardian dropping off the child is required to leave their cell phone on, in vibrate mode, while attending Mass in the event he/she must be contacted. If a child needs to be picked up, one of our volunteers will send a text.
You can drop your child(ren) off as early as 9:45 am, and pick them up at any point during or after the Mass.
To register your child(ren) for babysitting, click below to register online or to the right to print off a form. Fill them out, and bring them with you when you drop your child(ren) off before the 10:00 am Mass.
