St. Pius X Service Day:   “Be the Hands and Feet of Christ”

Saturday, April 21, 2018

Thank you to everyone who has signed up to participate in our Service Day.  Over 200 parishioners will come together as we reach out to the Capital Region in service, fulfilling our Mission Statement of “serving and loving our neighbors”.  See below for Frequently Asked Questions, and the Schedule for the Day.

On this day, children in grades 6 and older and adults, will participate in a variety of service projects at organizations throughout the city such as Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless, Catholic Charities, and Compassion-in-Action, to name a few.  Children in grades K-5 will participate in rotating stations each representing a different corporal work of mercy on site at our school and Church with their peers, while their parents serve off-site. Each station will be led by parent volunteers who have completed Safe Environment Training and the day will be full of fun and learning.  ALL PARTICIPANTS SHOULD PLAN TO EAT LUNCH BEFORE THEY COME.  A pizza dinner will be provided after the 5:00 Mass.  There will be a variety of age-appropriate projects for the children.  Please note:  any participant under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian also taking part in the day.  K-5 station leaders and off-site team captains for our 6th graders through adults, need to be VIRTUS trained and have received a background check as well as have completed all Safe Environment paperwork.  Please see below for additional station leader and team captain information.
