Committee Reports:
Christian Works and Services: Tom met with Sister Sarah and she was very grateful for the generosity of everyone at St Pius X

Prayer and Worship: Frank Pugliano said that Jeanne and her committee did a wonderful job with the All Souls’ liturgy

Sister Parishes: Jackie added that she sent $200 to Swainsboro for them to buy dry erase boards for their religious ed classrooms. Money was from the Directory proceeds. Tags were made for our Giving Tree for merchants down there.

PARISH CONVENING: Feedback Mary sent a report on the workshops she attended. “Praying with the Heart of Christ” and “Ministering as Christ Ministered”

Justyn went to “Recruiting and Nurturing Volunteers” and “Practices for Renewing Your Parish’s Faith Community”

Tom went to a workshop on “Stewardship and how to Involve Your Ministry”. They all found points pertinent to where we are in our own search for more involvement and commitment.

Kate spoke for Welcoming and Hospitality based on the Parish Survey. Among points being discussed, studied and hopefully pursued are the integration of new parishioners, “Tap on the Shoulder” ministry where a person is personally asked to join and help out – all stressing the personal touch. There was a discussion of people’s “mind sets” about our Parish and how they expressed this in the survey. Based on the survey, there have been meetings of the major committees and ministries in the Parish so that each group could express suggestions or concerns written in by parishioners. Frank asked those members who had been part of the feedback group to comment. It was felt that there should be a constant review of issues by the various parish committees.

The question of ushers (or lack of) was raised. Frank and Jack Egan will be meeting with Father this Friday and they will try to come up with a plan to attract and train more ushers.

Pastor’s comments: Father reminded the PPC of the Dedication next Wednesday. Also, there was an article written about our survey in The National Catholic Reporter.
