She extended congratulations to the committee for all of the time and work invested. Father Farano said there were many persons at the event who have no ties to the school other than they enjoy this event and are very supportive of a
Catholic education.

With the new PSA there are many events in progress. The committee is working to come up with new ideas for students and parents.

Religious Education – Judy First Reconcillation was discussed. Judy said it was a very nice evening and the children were excited.

Youth Ministry – Brian The Confirmation will be held March 7 at 2:30. There will be 128 participating with 9 from Sacred Heart. On March 20 there will be a charity Basketball game with Catholic High and members of our parish to raise money and awareness for the Burmerse and Iran. There are over 200 Burmese already living in the Albany area and more to come.

14 young adults have signed up for the Middle School Camp.

Christian Works and Services – Tom The 17th annual Sleep in the Park was held in Albany again this year. This is to show support for the homeless population. $50,000 has been cut out of the Homeless Action Committee’s state funding.

Sister Parish – Jackie
Our Sister Parishes in Georgia received their boxes of over the counter medical items. Sr. Mary will distribute the items. She makes up small zip lock bag filled with small items such as band aids, cough meds. children’s medications, etc. There is no update on the number of workers who received packages.

Public Relations – Cindy
The thoughts and suggestions from the first meeting were forwarded to the vendor. The committee is in the process of looking over our web site. After comments, the committee will meet.

Discernment – Dick Dick is making arrangements for this year’s Discernment for members of the Parish Council. There could be as many as four positions opens depending upon whether or not some persons still have time in their tenure to serve. Dick will announce the final dates next month. We have to be sure to work around the Bishop’s Appeal.

Last year we had placed information in the weekly bulletin asking for those who feel they would be interested in discerning. We first hold a general informational meeting to give an over view of what is required of those who serve. This will be a question and answer session only.

New Business – Cindy An invitation to the Choir’s Murder Mystery Dinner Theater was distributed. All are invited to attend this upcoming event!

The diocesan team has completed their initial phase of Evangelization. A tool kit is being created to share with the Parishes. A big event is being planned for 2012.

Father Moore- Fr. Moore is coordinating the “Spirituality 101” sessions on the Mondays of Lent at 7:00PM – 8:00 PM.

He will also hold, on Monday afternoons, at 1:15, a presentation on St. Ignatius.

Fr. Moore will be holding an all day class on St. Ignatius for the 6th, 7th and 7th graders.

Father Farano- Father said that over $650,000 was sent from the diocese to Haiti. Our parishioners contributed $30,025 and the school sent over $2,000. Congratulations to all who contributed so generously from their hearts.

Father discussed the fact that we do not have a formal monthly financial report. He will work with Nancy to see how we could view a periodic update on the financials.

Last year, there was no addition to savings: work was done on the rectory and the new classrooms were built.

SPX is assessed $223,000 for the Bishop’s Fund. As usual, we are able to keep half of the funds collected over that goal. Father said he may have to consider speaking from the altar about increasing weekly giving.

Father Moore closed the meeting with a Prayer.
Next Parish Pastoral Council meeting on March 17, 2010. Since the 17tth is St. Patrick’s Day there may be a change.

Respectfully Submitted
